Thermal Target and Weapon Fire Simulator for Thermal Sights.

Abstract

An etched plate which is used to simulate an infrared target for trainees using simulated weapons is described. Selectively etching the plate in a variety of fashions successfully imitates the thermal signature of the simulated target. The simulated weapons are then 'fired' at the plate and hits recorded. The plate may be electrically heated. (Author)
