Steerable Null Antenna Processor with Gain Control.

Abstract

An object of the invention is to provide a system with adaptive nulling when receiving over an extremely wide dynamic range. According to the invention, automatic gain control is incorporated not only in the antenna-correlator or reference branch, but also in the feedback branch of the system, with the gain control voltages derived from a common source. This source includes at least the antenna-correlator or reference signal, and in one embodiment the automatic gain control signal is derived from a sum of the two detected signals. Square law detection is preferred in deriving the gain control signal. (Author)
