Novel Barrel Devices for Aircraft Armament.

Abstract

There is disclosed a process achieved by surrounding the muzzle or discharge end of a barrel or tube of a cannon or rifle assembly with an extendible housing member which forms a gas receiving chamber in a retracted or inactive position and a blast chamber in an extended position for substantially reducing muzzle blast overpressure.
