A Safety Mooring Line.

Abstract

This invention provides a safety mooring line which is restrained from snapping back when parting. A high strength, low-stretch line is braided or twisted in a helical path around a high-stretch safety line. The safety line serves to retain the ends of the high strength line should that line part. A load-bearing jacket braided or stranded into the rope and having a slightly fuzzy nap protects the rope, enhances wear and produces better rendering characteristics over bitts and capstans.
