Light Actuated Electroexplosive Device.

Abstract

This application discloses a light actuated electroexplosive device wherein a pulsed light source of critical frequency activates a photovoltaic cell coupled through a tuned transformer to a full wave rectifier. A circuit comprising a storage capacitor, a trigger diode, and a squib is connected across the rectifier output terminals whereby when the capacitor has been charged to the breakdown voltage of the diode, the diode conducts detonating the squib.
