Lightweight Impulsive Noise Suppressor.

Abstract

An apparatus is described for producing a significant reduction in the impulsive noise of high performance, antitank weapons of the military services while retaining the necessary packaging constraints. The reduction is achieved by the release of the hot gases in a controlled manner such that the rate at which the initial gas is expelled to the ambient air is reduced. This programmed gas release causes a significant reduction in impulsive noise. (Author)
