Automatic Re-registration of Free Rockets.

Abstract

An unguided free rocket is launched toward an intended target, with best available information. An infrared tracker tracks the rocket plume, providing measured data on actual trajectory deviation from ideal. A microprocessor then compares this trajectory deviation to known effects that should be repeatable next launch, (such as crosswind, headwind, temperature effects on aerodynamics and motor thrust, etc.) and corrects the launcher pointing to improve future hit probability.
