Improved Process for the Preparation of Dimethyl-methylenedinitramine.

Abstract

The invention is a process for reacting methylinitramine with formaldehyde in a halogenated solvent and reacting the methylnitramine with formaldehyde in the presence of a strong sulfuric acid catalyst at certain specific temperatures to yield a final product having a yield rate of 70% or greater dimethylmethylenedinitramine.
