Preparation of SiC/Al Composited from Scrap.

Abstract

A method of recovering composite scrap, shavings, and turnings primarily of aluminum and silicon carbide and/or graphite comprising: collection of the scrap particles; cold pressing under high pressure; melting a part of the aluminum to form a molten matrix, and hot pressing to form a homogenious billet.
