A Firing Time Selector for Precision Weapon Aiming.

Abstract

A time selector compares a predicted effective aim point of a weapon with an intended aim point and, when the predicted and intended aim points fall within a predetermined threshold, firing of the weapon is enabled. Selection of a firing time in this manner compensates for motion of a gun mount as well as for the aiming error due to bending of the barrel due to acceleration and torque applied thereto.
