Augmentor Fuel Sprayring with Drain Vent.

Abstract

An improved fuel spraying includes a series of spray pintles and a drain vent pintle mounted in holes defined in the body of the spraying. The spraying body is deformable between first and second cross-sectional configurations due to change in internal pressure between positive and negative corresponding to operation and shutdown of the spraying. In the first configuration of the spraying body, the holes surrounding the spray pintles are open, while the hole surrounding the vent is closed. The reverse is true when the body is deformed to its second configuration. (Author)
