Liquid Reactant Chemical Pump.

Abstract

A liquid-reactant chemical pump which reacts a gas with the surface of a reactant to form a solid product. The pump may be used in conjunction with a laser to receive exhaust gases therefrom and reacts the exhaust gases with a reactant to produce a closed system. The reactant may be molten lithium which continuously coats a plurality of closely spaced vertical disks that revolve on a shaft partially submerged in the lithium pool. Or, if desired, the molten lithium may be held in thin vertical slabs by capillarity in a disk forming a porous substrate. (Author)
