Telemetry Receiver having Remote Tuning Capability.

Abstract

A telemetry receiver having remote tuning capability and a direct coupled video output. A VHF reference of the desired frequency is synthesized in a programmable closed loop around a varactor tuned oscillator. The VHF reference is fed back through programmable frequency dividers and referenced to a crystal controlled oscillator to adjust the frequency of the varactor tuned oscillator to the desired frequency. The synthesized VHF reference in then coupled to one port of a double balanced mixer which has the received RF signal as its other input. The output of the balanced mixer is converted to IF and fed to an AM/FM demodulator to provide AM and FM signal outputs.
