Combination Frangible Nose Cap EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) Shield.

Abstract

An improved frangible nose cap is presented which in addition to providing mechanical protection to the torpedo nose also provides electromagnetic protection to the torpedo electronics systems. The improved nose cap is made up of a frangible material which may be impregnated, or coated, with a conductive layer that can be electrically connected to the torpedoe's electronic circuit ground for the EMI shielding.
