Preparation of Polymers of Functionalized Acetylenes.
Abstract
Polymers of acetylenes containing functional groups not attached to the triple bond thereof have been prepared by combining the acetylene with either of two reagents. Novel features of the invention include the preparation of polymers consisting of a carbon skelton of alternating single and double bonds with functional groups attached to this skeleton by one or more saturated carbon atoms; and new procedures for polymerizing acetylenes and particularly those containing functional groups.
