Automated Parts Storage and Retrieval System Positioning Device and Method.

Abstract

A device accurately positions a conveyor, the conveyor having a conveyable periphery driveable by a motor, a plurality of storage bins located along the periphery, having a coarse position sensor disposed for coupling to the motor and a plurality of fine position sensors with a respective one of the fine sensors located at a respective fixed location adjacent to the periphery. At least one bin locator is associated with at least one of the bins. A home sensor is located at a fixed location adjacent to the periphery, with a home locator affixed to the periphery.
