Silver Sulfonamide-Complexes of Diamines as Antimicrobial Agents.
Abstract
This invention relates to the preparation of novel silver sulfonamide-complexes of aliphatic or aromatic diamines having 1 to 3 carbon atoms in the moiety bridging the two amino groups. These compounds have been shown to have marked effectiveness in inhibiting the growth of bacteria and protozoa, and are, therefore useful as antimicrobial agents in the treatment of bacterial and protozoan infections.
