Lipid Tubules.
Abstract
This patent application relates to synthetic lipid structures and more particularly to lipid tubules formed from phospholipid liposomes. A method is described for producing lipid tubules, comprising the steps of: forming liposomes; raising the temperature of said liposomes to above the chain melting transition temperature; cooling said liposomes to a temperature below said transition temperature thereby causing lipid tubules to form spontaneously.
