Fluid Spray Cleaning Arrangement.

Abstract

This abstract discloses an fluid-spray cleaning arrangement for use in effecting internal cleaning of an aircraft propulsion device. The arrangement is generally made up of manually operable elongated tube means. The outer end of the tube means in one embodiment is of circular or ring shape having a series of fluid dispensing openings therearound; and in another it is of salt-shaker like configuration. Auxiliary power means rotates rotor means of the device at a selected speed so as to generate an air flow between the ends of the device. Fluid pump means causes the emission of a series of fluid-cleaning streams under pressure from either embodiment of the tube means outer end. These emitted streams together with the air flow cause the formation of a cylindrical-shaped fluid-array cleaning pattern between device ends. Second tube means having a series of helically arranged and relatively-spaced openings for dispensing another series of fluid cleaning streams is affixed to the device between its ends. The dispensed streams of the second tube means supplement the cleaning action of the cylindrical-shaped, fluid-spray cleaning pattern so as to effectively clean the device.
