Uniform Excitation Apparatus by a Single Power Supply of Two Dimensional Arrays of Waveguide Gas Lasers.

Abstract

An equipotential laser waveguide excitation apparatus having a plurality of parallel equipotential surfaces disposed in a dielectric material. A plurality of hollow waveguides formed in the dielectric material between and parallel to the equipotential surfaces to provide waveguide arrays. A high voltage RF power supply is applied to the equipotential surfaces to provide a uniform E-field distribution along the waveguide arrays to achieve a uniform discharge from all the waveguide arrays.
