Undersea Data Collection, Analysis, and Display System.

Abstract

The invention relates to computer-based techniques for deriving three-dimensional models of time varying oceanographic data, suitable for improved tactical and oceanographic analysis and more particularly to an innovative combination of known technologies and techniques from the fields of sensors, geographical data management and analysis, volumetric data visualization and analysis, advanced computer processors, and display systems. It is the general purpose and object of the present invention to provide a means by which ships, submarines or other underwater vehicles, or aircraft can create three-dimensional models of the local oceanographic environment using historical, forecasted, and continuous in situ data measurements such that improved tactical and oceanographic modelling may be realized.
