Circuit Means for Providing Compatibility Between Two Separate Digital Data Interfaces.
Abstract
A computing device for providing compatibility between two separate digital interfaces is disclosed. The computing device adapts the power that is available from a first computer to supply the voltage to circuit elements that are interconnected to the two different digital interfaces. A computing device is disclosed that provides communications, in a half-duplex manner, between first and second general purpose computers. The first computer has a digital data interface conforming to the specifications of MIL-STD-1397A (NTDS fast) protocol with NTDS fast voltages, and the second computer is a commercial type having a 'Flag In/Device Flag Out' protocol with complementary transistor logic (CTL) voltages. The computing device provides compatibility for the logic levels of the associated signals, control words, and data words of each of the separate digital data interfaces. Algorithm means are to be installed in the commercial computer which can control said computing device to make its logic components conform to MIL-STD-1397A, and are disclosed.
