Lifetime Cost Earthquake Resistant Design: An Algorithm for Automation,

Abstract

An automated design methodology is proposed which exploits the principal features of a lifetime cost approach to earthquake resistant design developed in a previous paper. Several examples are presented which explore the lifetime cost formulation and the proposed design algorithm. (Author)
