Parameterization in Finite Element Analysis,

Abstract

Techniques are developed for expressing structural response of a finite element model as a function of design parameters. Analytical formulations are derived for the displacement response as well as for the rate of change of the response with respect to the design parameter values of an updated design. A 10 member truss system is used to illustrate the computations required by these formulations. (Author)
