Velocity Measurements of Incident and Reflected Shock Waves in Various Gases and in Saturated Water Vapour,

Abstract

Velocity measurements of incident and reflected shock waves have been performed by a four-beam-laserinterferometer. The beam distance for run-time determination was only 3.3 mm, thus insuring an instantaneous velocity measurement obtaind by shock-shock reflection (ideal) and by end wall reflection (real).
