Shock Initiated Ignition in Heptane-Oxygen-Argon Mixtures,

Abstract

The ignition of heptane in mixtures containing oxygen and argon was studied behind reflected shock waves in 56 mm i.d. and 26 mm i.d. single-pulse shock tubes. The measurements covered the temperature range 1100-1700 K and reflected shock pressures varying from 2 to 12 atmospheres.
