Review of Wave Measurement Using in situ Systems,

Abstract

The details of the configuration and performance of in situ wave-measurement systems are covered in three succeeding papers of these proceedings (AD-P000 382, AD-P000 383, AD-P000 384). Here, an overview is presented of the capabilities and limitations of in situ instruments as a group. The instruments identified have been arranged by physical type within a functional framework based upon water depth and wave height and direction-measuring capabilities.
