Design and Evaluation of Damaged Weapon Facility,

Abstract

As part of the overall modernization of the Pantex Plant, Amarillo, Texas, the Department of Energy/Mason and Hanger, Silas Mason Co. has engaged the Joint Venture Firms of Gibbs and Hill/Ammann and Whitney to design the new 'Production and Assembly Facilities'. As part of this design, Ammann and Whitney was required to develop and design a 'near full containment' structure titled 'Damaged Weapon Facility'. This facility will be used for the inspection and disassembly of components which have been damaged by accidental means. (Author)
