Distant Runner - Debris Recovery and Analysis Program for Events 4 and 5,

Abstract

This paper presents the results of the debris collection and analysis program for Events 4 and 5 of Operation DISTANT RUNNER. The program objective was to provide adequate empirical debris data to assess/revise the current quantity-distance (QD) criteria (debris effects for the Air Force third-generation hardened aircraft shelter used by NATO forces in Europe. Debris patterns produced by detonations within the shelter were determined and debris impact energies were evaluated to meet this objective.
