Analytical Simulation of Attacks Involving Helicopter/Guided Missile Systems,

Abstract

Consideration has been given to the duel phase at the team-on-team level of an AH mission. The HELMATES model has been introduced as an example of the type of simulation which is required for survivability/effectiveness comparison of TOW and HELLFIRE systems at this level. The features of this model are: It is designed to accept, as input, data as it is retrieved from field tests such as 43.6 and the LAGUMS Military Potential Test. It is sensitive to this input in comparing the survivability/effectiveness across the alternatives. It provides an indicator for measuring the limitations of the respective systems in their tactical employment.
