A Hierarchical Structure of Models for the Analysis of Land Mobility Systems,

Abstract

In this paper we propose a framework for a deliberately supportive hierarchy of models and related experimental procedures to meet the needs of land mobility design, development and evaluation. Central to the concept of this proposed structure is the clear necessity to maximize the credibility of those models which predict behavior of complex systems. Lack of an acceptable level of credibility in such models appears to be at the root of present disenchantment in many quarters with systems analyses and simulations generally. (Author)
