Heavy Equipment Tractor (Decision Risk Analysis),

Abstract

A study was conducted to evaluate the procurement of 725 heavy equipment tractors (22 1/2-ton) to meet the Army's requirement for the 1975-80 time frame. The initial purpose of this study was to conduct a cost-effectiveness comparison of the XM746 and appropriate commercial truck tractors. The specific objectives then were: (1) a qualitative QMR review, (2) a life cycle cost estimate, (3) a cost-effectiveness study, and (4) finally as warranted to determine an optimum mix of vehicles.
