The Kinetics of Rotating Biological Contactors at Temperatures: 5 C, 15 C, and 20 C,

Abstract

The general objective of this study was to determine the kinetics of carbon and ammonia nitrogen removal as a function of temperature in an RBC system treating domestic wastewater. The specific objectives were: (1) To develop kinetic models for different processes associated with carbonaceous and ammonia nitrogen removal in the first and following stages of an RBC system. (2) To determine the kinetic constants for each process at each stage and each temperature. (3) To determine the effect of temperature on the kinetic constants.
