The Use of Task Based Job Analysis Data for Developing Performance Evaluation Systems,

Abstract

The task inventory method was chosen for the job analysis because of the need to amass detailed information on hundreds of jobs from thousands of incumbents. Task data are amenable to computer storage and analysis and are applicable to a wide variety of personnel decisions. Incumbent ratings of time spent on tasks provide a very close link to 'job behaviors' and 'worker requirements', concepts that are central to legal guidelines for personnel decisions. (Author)
