Linearized Dynamics of Shearing Deformation Perturbing Rest in Viscoelastic Materials,

Abstract

This paper extends the authors earlier work on the propagation of jumps in velocity and displacement for shearing deformations imposed impulsively at the boundary of viscoelastic fluids and solids obeying constitutive equations in integral form with arbitrary kernels of fading memory type.
