Historical Foundations of the AFAMRL (Air Force Aerospace Medical Research Lab) Workload Program,

Abstract

Nothing that has been discovered about workload in the last ten days has changed its basically complex nature, nor has it revealed a simplistic way of measuring it. Significant progress has been made in defining what the various critical elements of workload are, and in pointing out those elements which can be measured at the present time, as well as those which will require new metrics for their measurement. At AFAMRL, such metrics are being developed, and it is hoped that they will be applicable to all environments. There is considerable optimism that such a goal is achievable, and we intend to achieve it.
