Progress in Stereo Mapping

Abstract

The authors have been developing tools and experimenting with matching strategies that will build to a rule-based stereo matching system. In particular, they have been: (a) demonstrating the design and the utility of the rule-based approach to surface inference from monocular information through the hand synthesis of matching strategies; (b) developing tools to support a mapping interactive test facility; and (c) experimenting with the stereo mapping system, preparing to run it on some new imagery.
