Microbuckling Initiated Failure in Tough Resin Laminates,

Abstract

Research Objectives of this report are: To identify failure mechanisms which initiate failure in compression loaded graphite-epoxy laminates and structural components; To understand why tough resins improve the compressive strength of graphite-epoxy laminates with impact damage but not with holes, and To develop ways to make compression loaded laminates less notch sensitive.
