Icing Related Problems, Effect of Line Design and Ice Load Mapping,

Abstract

The paper deals with the estimation of ice loads on overhead transmission lines in the USSR. The correlation is given between ice thickness on OH line conductors and on conductor at weather station, which allows to account for the effect of line design on ice load. The problems of choice of the standard return period and ice thickness intervals for design ice loads are considered. (Author)
