Dynamic Loading: More Than Just a Dynamic Load Factor,

Abstract

The response of a simply supported beam to uniform blast loading is determined by using the normal-mode technique. Especially for short load durations the higher modes become important. The rotary inertia and shear force deformation have to be taken into account. At short load durations high peaks of shear force appear near the supports immediately after loading. (Author)
