Dimethyl Sulfoxide in the Treatment of AA Amyloidosis,

Abstract

In our experience DMSO is a non-toxic drug. DMSO may be of value in the treatment of human AA amyloidosis. The effect of DMSO in AA amyloidosis is probably due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Abrupt discontinuation of DMSO treatment in AA amyloidosis should be avoided.
