An Algebraic Method for Hazard Analysis with the Maximum Number of Spikes in Combinational and Sequential Circuits,

Abstract

A method is described for hazard analysis with the maximum possible number of spikes in combinational and sequential circuits with NAND gates and flip-flops. This paper studies the conditions of creation and propagation of hazards. The influence of hazards of inputs on steady-state of the outputs of a flip-flop with synchronous and asynchronous triggering is considered. Partial results are given in A4 alphabet, where we assume all lines to be O or 1. Final, complete results are given in A11 alphabet, where some lines may be x, i.e. in unknown state. (Author)
