Parallel Implementation of Likelihood-Based Estimation and Detection,

Abstract

Old and new information is presented about the implementation of the detection of signals, the estimation of signals, and the estimation of parameters of signals. In all cases the processing consists of exact or approximate calculation of the logarithm of a likelihood function. The form of the liklihood is based on Gaussian statistics, even when the signal and interference are not Gaussian random functions.
