Evaluation of Agricultural Flood Control Projects,

Abstract

Accurate economic evaluation of the effects of flooding of agricultural areas is essential in determining the feasibility of agricultural flood control projects. This paper attempts to identify the major steps in this evaluation procedure and discuss state-of-the-art methodologies that may be employed in the analysis. The procedures that are discussed relate to the guidance provided by the Principles and Standards NED Evaluation Manual. In the last section of this paper, a discussion of the proposed Principles and Guidelines and how they differ from the P&S is presented.
