Performance Evaluation of Sensors,

Abstract

This paper discusses the basic principles of sensor performance evaluation necessary to assure meaningful measurements with the sensor. The subject is divided into the four major areas of: static calibration, dynamic calibration, investigation of environmental effects, and investigation of durability. Each of the areas is discussed in sufficient detail to be of benefit to the measurement engineer. A selected bibliography is included. (Author)
