Readiness Planning in a Peacetime Environment,

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to provide the Department of Defense (DOD) personnel and the public with information on how readiness planning in a peacetime environment will enhance the ability of DOD to respond to a Vietnam-type war, quickly deployment of the Rapid Deployment Force (RDF) to a world trouble spot, or the initial phase of build-up in a mobilization situation. The paper will highlight a novel way of obtaining information and of facilitating rapid acceleration of defense contractors without the formal declaration of war or a national emergency. (Author)
