New Initiatives in International Programs,

Abstract

The paper entitled Management of Multinational Programs based upon the research results contained in the Joint Logistics Commanders' Guide for the Management of Multinational Programs developed by the author, was presented in the 1982 Federal Acquisition Research Symposium Proceedings. This paper is intended to provide an update of new initiatives developed and implemented since the paper and guide were published. Examples of two new international programs, the U.S. Army/U.S. Marine Corps Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) and the U.S. Army Advanced Attack Helicopter (AAH), are presented. The author had the privilege to serve as the Deputy Project Manager on the LAV and consultant to the AAH Program Manager to establish an international consortium for coproduction of the Advanced Attack Helicopter.
