Tactical Decision Aids Which Quantify Judgment,

Abstract

A new generation of decision aids, based on personalized decision analysis, is being developed to support the judgmental component of tactical command and control systems. They structure and quantify judgments of uncertainty and value, with a view to enhancing the soundness of decisions and reducing the decision maker's burden. Attack submarine examples are presented directed at: assessing target range; alerting to dangers and opportunities; and choosing a time of fire. (Author)
