Intership Sensor Alignment Using UHF Tactical Data Link Relative Navigation,
Abstract
Ultra High Frequency tactical force data links can provide accurate relative navigation utilizing signal propagation delays, transformed into corrections to dead-reckoned relative position estimates by a decentralized extended kalman filter. The accuracy of this relative navigation can be exploited to achieve intership sensor alignment among the participating units. In certain common geometric situations, a simple range-only triangulation can be used. The results obtained by this method have accuracy comparable to more sophisticated filtering techniques, at a considerable reduction in computational time. (Author)
