GUIDAR Alarm Assessment,

Abstract

The assessment display described in this paper presents a totally new approach to assessment of intrusion alarms. In practical terms it represents an optional add-on unit to be used with GUIDAR/PCCS. It offers several distinct advantages over traditional human or CCTV surveillance: lower costs; not dependent on obvious environmental conditions; integrates the operator more closely with GUIDAR/PCCS. The effectiveness of the operator to make reliable assessments will only be determined by experience.
